ANGE POSTECOGLOU has refused to confirm that Harry Kane is staying at Tottenham.
We reported at the weekend how Bayern Munich are readying an improved offer for the striker.
That is after reports in Germany claimed that the Bundesliga giants had a bid of around £60million turned down last month.
Spurs denied an official offer had ever been received and that if there had been one, it would be rejected as they do not want to sell their talisman.
That stance is set to be challenged with Bayern believed to have launched a fresh approach in the region of £70m plus add-ons.
Bayern are in the market for a new centre-forward and boss Thomas Tuchel has made the England captain his No1 target.
Kane only has 12 months remaining on his contract and that means that Spurs risk losing him for nothing next summer if they do not cash in over the coming weeks.
But chairman Daniel Levy is still hopeful the legend can be convinced to sign fresh terms and stay.
However, new Spurs boss Postecoglou did not seem as confident when he faced the media earlier.
When asked about if he had been promised that the soon-to-be 30-year-old would stay, the Aussie replied: “I haven't had any assurances. I wouldn't expect any.”
“You're never dealing in definites with this kind of thing.
“What I know right now is Harry is part of this squad, looking forward to coming back.”
Kane is due back for pre-season training this week where he is set for talks with Postecoglou.
Tottenham fly to Australia for the start of their pre-season tour on Friday.
