German athlete Alica Schmidt is packing her bags for Paris.
Schmidt, long dubbed by her fans and websites as the "sexiest athlete in the world," qualified for the upcoming 2024 Olympics in the 4x400m mixed relay after participating in the World Athletics Relays Bahamas over the weekend, The Post reported.
"What a night," Schmidt captioned an Instagram story on Sunday featuring fellow German athletes Manuel Sanders, Johanna Martin and Emil Agyekum.
"From paradise to Paris," Schmidt captioned another snapshot.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, August 11.
Alica, a social media sensation
Schmidt, a social media giant with seven million followers between her Instagram and TikTok pages, posted on the video platform on Sunday, saying that "the Olympic season is officially underway," and fans offered their well wishes in the comments.
"Good luck, I'll be rooting for you," posted one TikTok user. "Wishing you great success, Alica," wrote another.
Schmidt traveled to Tokyo for the 2021 Games but did not compete.
She later announced his plans to "take a break" from the sport.
"2021 season: I'm not going to lie, I'm not satisfied with my racing this year. I have worked harder than ever, day in and day out, pushed my limits in every training session and made a lot of sacrifices. It wasn't an easy year with my Covid infection and torn ligaments, but I still know what I'm capable of and I'm hungry for more," Schmidt wrote on Instagram in August 2023.
