Kendall Jenner hasn’t missed a Met Gala since she started going in 2014. Tonight, she continued her 11-year streak. The model arrived at the 2025 event, which celebrates the museum’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibition.
She wore a custom Torishéju skirt suit with a plunging neckline in accordance with the night’s “Tailored for You” dress code. Chopard diamond jewelry completed the look.
Per the design house, Jenner’s look was inspired by Gladys Bentley and the 1920s Harlem Renaissance women. Its elongated panels and sculptural draping at the front form a loose knot at the back in a nod to Nigerian wrapper traditions, the house revealed.
“This look is deeply personal to me, as it expresses the versatility of Black Dandyism and tailoring and what it means to a Black British woman,” designer Torishéju Dumi said in a press release. “It challenges preconceived notions of how one should dress or design based on their gender, race or background.”
Jenner’s last high-profile appearance was at Coachella in April. Her 818 tequila brand partnered with her friend Hailey Bieber’s beauty brand, Rhode, for a joint pop-up.
The model has generally kept a lower profile this year, however. She last gave a big update on her life to Vogue in May 2024. At that point, Jenner was focused on her mental health.
“I don’t see why I shouldn’t be honest about it,” she began. “In my career right now, I feel really stable, really hopeful. But I’ve had a tough two months. I haven’t been myself, and my friends see it. I’m more sad than usual. I’m way more anxious than usual. So I’m not going to sit here and act like everything’s perfect. That’s life—I’m always going to be in and out of those feelings. In past interviews, when someone’s asked me about my mental state, it’s always been, ‘I’m great right now, but this is what I’ve dealt with.’ Well, right now I’m actually in it.”
She was optimistic about the future though: “I’m so tired emotionally, but I think it’s good. It’s almost like I’m purging something for my 30s. That’s my theory.”
